Though we had wet weather with lightning (in the distance), this group braved the drizzle till 11.30am. At the event, it was observed that many participants were still unsure of what to pick (eg. bones, branches) and in which category to place their items (organisers to look into the use of more familiar terms for local students). Another observation was that most of the participants tend to go beyond the tideline and collect trash further inland (perhaps the collection zone can be specified in the guidelines next time). It will also be good to delegate more volunteers to tally the final totals at the end of the clean-up for instant results. All in all, it was a great effort by the students and teachers involved.
